GPS Indicates Aegean May Have Hit Rocky Island

The Washington Post has published an article about the possibility the yacht hit North Coronado Island and was not hit and destroyed by a larger ship. Online GPS tracking of the Aegean here.

A Washington Post article reports that it is possible the yacht Aegean could have hit what would amount to a "near vertical wall," the coast of North Coronado Island, on its way from Newport Beach to Ensenada. Manhattan Beach resident, Kevin Eric Rudolph, 53, was one of three crew members found dead in the ocean. Torrance resident Bill Johnson Jr., 57, and Bradenton, Fla. resident Joe Stewart, 64, were also found dead in the water; the Aegean's skipper, Redondo Beach resident Theo Mavromatis, 49, is still missing. Here is Spot LLC’s GPS track of the destroyed yacht.
