Liza Tamura is the current city clerk.</p> <p>Tamura is the city's first clerk by appointment, which was a ballot measure put to voters in 1997. In years prior, city clerks were voted into office. Tamura serves an "at will" term.</p> <p>As custodian of official records, the city clerk maintains all official city documents, archives and legislative history. She also conducts and certifies all municipal elections; administers oaths and affirmations; and manages legal requirements for public notice and for the filing of referenda, initiatives, recall petitions, annual Statements of Economic Interest and campaign disclosure statements.</p>
