Moules & Frites, Oysters, Clams and More at Chez Soi

Chez Soi, the new eatery from Chef Mark Gold and Thierry Perez, is offering some Memorial Day specials, one of which is all-you-can-eat Moules & Frites (mussels and duck fat french fries) for $25 per person.

The culinary specialty consists of Pei Mussels steamed in white wine, garlic and parsley with Belguim-style fries blanched at 300 degrees, placed in the freezer and then cooked at 375 degrees in duck fat, said Katie Bonneau, spokesperson.

Memorial Day lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a menu of light fare, such as salads, soup, steamed clams or mussels, oysters, fried chicken and other selections, she said.

A Happy Hour menu is available form 4 to 7 p.m., consisting of oysters, fried chicken leg, clams casino, chicken confit, and other selections for $6 each as well as craft cocktails [Gin Gin Mule and Edison Street] and select beer [Orange Avenue and Stone Smoked Porter] for $4 each. 

Chez Soi, located in Metlox Plaza at 451 D Manhattan Beach Blvd. [the front door actually faces Morningside Drive], offers a comfortable lounge and two outdoor dining areas. 

The restaurant was just listed in a Zagat blog called "14 Ways to Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend Around LA."
