2011 Mira Costa Spring Percussion Festival

Enjoy a fun and exciting musical experience on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Mira Costa High School auditorium located at 1401 Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach.  Percussion clinics will be held at 6:00 and 7:00 pm with an 8:00 pm concert of the Mira Costa High School Percussion Ensemble (doors open at 7:45 pm for the concert).  Tickets are free for students and only $5 for adults for all the festival activities.  Clinics will be lead by world-renown drummers Ron Powell (6:00, Brazillian Samba) and Lalo Davila (7:00, Afro-Cuban rhythms).  Ron and Lalo will be working with clinic attendees on many aspects of musicianship, playing Latin and South American percussion instruments, as well as incorporating Latin rhythms into their playing styles.  The concert will be the 3rd annual percussion studio concert and is always a huge crowd-pleaser!
