Comics Legends at Comic Bug for MyBeanJar iPhone App Launch

Joe Rubinstein, David Wohl,  Scott Koblish, and Scott Lobdell are just a few of the hottest names in the world of comics that will be appearing at the Comic Bug this Wednesday.  They’ll be signing their books and talking about their work to help promote the trial launch of a new iPhone app co-founded by comic industry favorite, Terry Kavanagh.

The MyBeanJar app, which the founders like to call “Games with Benefits,” allows players of casual games to receive free stuff—cupcakes, pizza, lattes, and more—at certain levels of achievement in each game. For example, you might reach level three of Theseus and earn a “Bean” for a free slice at Ameci’s Pizza. You can walk into Ameci’s with your iPhone and redeem the Bean immediately for the free food, or collect the Beans in your MyBeanJar iphone app for later use.  Many local merchants including Baskin Robbins, Bobaloca, and Gigi’s Shoes are participating with exclusive offers—free, twofer, or sizable discounts—redeemable at their stores and restaurants from the MyBeanJar app on their iPhone/iPad/iTouch.
The Comic Bug event will also feature giveaways and special incentives for joining the MyBeanJar trial.  Apple users in the South Bay can download the MyBeanJar app, and the two “Bean-enabled” games—Theseus and Whomp-a-Weasel—for free from the iTunes Store from December 14 to December 21.
So, as of midnight tonight, Play, Win, and Cash In! with MyBeanJar.
