49TH ANNUAL MARINA DEL REY BOAT PARADE

When: Saturday, Dec. 10 at 5:55 p.m. sharp

Where: The judges viewing stand and live music will be at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, but you can also choose to view the parade from one of the many restaurants at Fisherman's Village or anywhere along the channel.

Why: It's a huge event. A fireworks display kicks the whole thing off. Take advantage of what Marina del Rey has to offer and mingle with neighbors and hundreds of others who come from miles around to attend. This year's theme is "Christmas Carnavale" and boats compete to win in this annual holiday event.

Where and when: , 1243 Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach; Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: Experience a trip back in time to a night that changed the world with a cast of more than 200 costumed actors, dozens of live animals and hundreds of hands-on experiences.
