Exhibit Captures Art of the Surf

The Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center welcomes visitors to its opening reception of the popular exhibition.

A steady stream of visitors poured into the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center Friday night for the fourth Art of the Surf exhibition. Featuring oils, acrylics and sculptures, the center's exhibit is one of three dedicated to showcasing the beauty of surf. Zask Gallery of Palos Verdes and of Redondo Beach also opened Art of the Surf exhibits last month.

Accomplished surf artist Damian Fulton selected the pieces for each gallery, and proceeds from a live auction at Zask Gallery on July 24 benefit the Surfrider Foundation.

"Artists have a lot of passion for what they do," said Peggy Zask, exhibit organizer and owner of Zask Gallery. "They're out there relating to nature, and that's what art is all about."
