Lemonade Hopes to Open in MB

The popular Lemonade concept is moving forward with plans to open in Metlox Plaza in downtown Manhattan Beach.

A retail location downtown in Metlox Plaza is shifting from tea to lemonade.

According to city officials, Lemonade, a gourmet market/café, is proposed for the business location that previously housed The Tea Exchange and Petros specialty foods, wrapping around Papyrus.

City staff has determined that what Lemonade offers [termed "use"] is allowed and is consistent with the Master Use Permit and Disposition and Development Agreement as a retail/specialty food service, said Dave Carmany, city manager.

Lemonade, described as “part lemondae stand, part grade school cafeteria,” offers food to go or for dining in that features seasonal fresh ingredients. It's considered a clean, healthy, inventive cuisine, according to its website.

The Manhattan Beach location expects to have indoor and outdoor seating as well as Lemonade's signature food to go.
