Skechers' 2013 Super Bowl Ad Tamer than 2012 Commercial

Mr. Quiggly is nowhere to be seen, neither is Mark Cuban or racing greyhounds. Watch the ad online here.

Unlike in 2012, Skechers' Super Bowl commercial isn't generating a host of chatter on twitter and elsewhere in the media.

Last January, Grey2K, a greyhound protection group, asked Skechers, a Manhattan Beach-based global footwear giant, to trash the 2012 commercial because it was filmed at an Arizona race track the group believes mistreats greyhounds. Grey2K organized boycotts at Skechers' stores to protest the ad.

On http://www.superbowl-commercials.org/, the footwear company's 2013 Super Bowl TV commercial gets a tip of the cap, reporting that in its promotion of the GOrun 2 shoe during Super Bowl XLVII, Skechers "uses a tried and true formula," the mockumentary.

A cheetah, gazelle and human air in the ad spot, with what the website calls a "hokey" human maneuver at its conclusion. But the website also calls the spot "a lovely little commercial."
