MB Farmers Market shoppers are finding Valencia oranges for juicing, the buttery and rich Reed avocado, eggs, and pomegranates at Gamma, which is also "Sweet Potato Central," according market manager Susan Hillyer.

Smith Farms has squash, onions, peppers, grapes and persimmons and Jaime Farm has onions, beets, green onions, parsley, Brussels sprouts, eggplant, Swiss chard, kale and bell peppers.

If you're looking for berries, Santago is offering blackberries, blueberries and strawberries.

Eight varieties of organic apples are available at Ha's, which also has pears.

Cooks will also want to visit ABC Rhubarb Farms for fresh herbs: thyme, sage, rosemary, oregano, Bay leaves, and oyster, shiitake, and portobello mushrooms, great for for soups and dressings.

Arnett Farms has seedless mandarins, pummel grapefruit, and crimson gold apples that are sweet and tart.

Other highlights today include wreaths, sunflowers, and knife sharpening, so stop by or make plans to shop the market next week. The MB Farmers Market happens every Tuesday, rain or shine, downtown.
