A Must See at 743 29th

We see a lot of homes here in Manhattan Beach.

But we've never seen one like 743 29th, Dave's new listing in the Tree Section.

This home is both old and new. It's newly built, 100%, but its art and ambition are much older. The goal was to create a home that feels timeless, that can transport you to another place – almost to another era.

With rigid attention to detail, this home recreates a classic American home with Queen Anne lineage, something you might find atop sprawling farmland on the East Coast, perhaps in the South, definitely in northern California – in Napa or Mendocino.

By the beach here? That's surprising. And wonderful.

The double lot where this property rests adds to that feeling. The owners did not max out on their nearly 8400 sq. ft. lot.

They scaled down the home and prioritized outdoor space. So there's an ample and wide front yard, planted with fruit trees and native plants, plus a backyard big enough for a pool, now hosting a large brick patio, fenced vegetable garden and bocce ball court.

Even the separate, 3-car garage is a gorgeous structure, basking in natural light from lots of windows and skylights, with its own covered patio as well.

To round it out, this location is just about as quiet as you'll find in the MB Tree Section, on a corner lot with Agnes.

Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal rhapsodized about "new/old" homes as a new development in higher-end architecture. This seems to be the first such faithful iteration in MB.

Sure, we have lots to say about this house. But really, we're glad to show it to you. And we can do that in so many ways.

If you already live in the area, you're seeing a lot of advertising for the property starting today – print and online.

Here at MBC, we've set up a special page with more and larger-than-normal photos. And that page links out to our property-specific website, 743-29th.com, where you can get full-screen, high resolution photos – even more than we could squeeze into other places.

Plus, we now have video. Our video walkthrough (below) will give you a great sense of the home in just a couple of minutes.

And last but not least, we will hold open 743 29th on both days this coming weekend,Saturday and Sunday 1-4pm.

Please come by and see this marvelous creation for yourself!

Our video tour can be viewed by using this link to YouTube. Enjoy! And we hope to see you at the property this weekend.
