Earthquakes Strike Off MB, Malibu Coasts

Minor shaking is felt when three earthquakes, 4.0, 2.3 and 1.8 magnitudes, strike in the Pacific Ocean off the Los Angeles coast.

A 1.8 magnitude earthquake five miles off the coasts of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and El Segundo was recorded by the USGS at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday. The epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean.

At 10:12 p.m., a 2.8 earthquake struck the Channel Islands region, about 28 miles off the coast of Malibu and was followed at 10:14 p.m., by a 4.0 earthquake in the Channel Islands region, about 30 miles off the coast of Malibu.
