Local Home Dubbed 'Pearl of The Strand'

From a glass-enclosed landing on the rooftop deck and full ocean views, the ship-like property 'changed the face of Manhattan Beach.'

Love the ambiance of an ocean liner, but prefer to stay docked in beautiful Manhattan Beach?

A sculpted steel-and-glass home along The Strand—designed in 1988 by Ray Kappe, architect and co-founder of the Southern California Institute of Architecture—was recently featured as the "Home of the Week" at LATimes.com.

The property features a three-story, teak-panelled atrium filled with greenery, a glass catwalk leading to the master suite, an 18-foot bar and curved windows throughout, "creating the feel of being on a ship."
