Operation Light Exchange

Customers of Southern California Edison who want to participate in Operation Light Exchange, an energy efficiency program that allows SCE residential customers to exchange inefficient halogen and incandescent light fixtures for new, free Energy Star labeled lamps better hurry to Torrance tomorrow morning before SCE runs out of free lamps.

Today's lamp exchange event was so successful that SCE predicts their lamp stock will be gone by 10 a.m. The event begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow in the Kmart parking lot, 19330 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance. A record-breaking 5,400 lamps were exchanged during today's event and lamps are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

SCE customers may bring in a combination of up to ten old:

and exchange them for free new energy-efficient fluorescent plug-in lamp fixtures of the same type. For example, exchange one old energy-guzzling desk lamp and one old floor lamp for one new energy-efficient desk lamp and one new floor lamp.

Participants must show they are an SCE residential customer by bringing their SCE bill and/or CA driver's license with their zip code falling within SCE service territory.

The energy efficient lamps are stylish and beautiful. You can see them at the Southern California Edison website.
