Purple Pentel Products Help Kick Off National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Pentel® introduces products to kick off National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Torrance-based Pentel of America, Ltd. and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network® have joined forces to increase awareness and raise funds to support research and advocacy to fight pancreatic cancer.

November is National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and Pentel
is pleased to announce products that directly contribute funding back
to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network . Pentel’s violet EnerGel-X pens have been named the “Violet Pen of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network” which is appropriate, since purple is the color of pancreatic cancer awareness.

All packs and dozen boxes of violet EnerGel-X liquid gel pens now
prominently feature the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network logo and Vision of Progress to double the pancreatic cancer survival rate by 2020. For each
package sold, Pentel will donate 5¢ to the organization. Plus, Pentel will be
donating violet EnerGel-X pens to the organization for use during
training seminars and community outreach events.

“Pancreatic cancer has the lowest five-year survival rate of
all major cancers at just 6 percent and 73 percent of patients will die in the first year of diagnosis,” states Donna DeDario, Director of Corporate and
Community Relations at Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. “We’ve been able to make a huge  impact over the past decade, but there’s still so much to be done. Efforts of companies like Pentel of America not only help us fund
much-needed research, but also increase awareness of the disease.”

“The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a wonderful organization and we wanted to shed light on their efforts to fight this disease,” says Pentel’s Director of Marketing, Ilene Albert-Nelson. “The energy and emotion expressed by the orgnization’s  volunteers is inspiring and infectious. We couldn’t help but get involved and hope that violet pen lovers across the country will join us is fighting pancreatic cancer.”
