Police: Gun Used to Rob Manhattan Beach Teenagers

A silver semi-automatic handgun was used by one of two robbers who took cell phones and cash from two Manhattan Beach teenagers on June 30 between 12:50 and 12:55 a.m., Manhattan Beach Police Det. Michael Rosenberger said Wednesday.

The incident allegedly happened at 11th Street and Poinsettia Avenue as the two 17-year-old males were hanging out. Rosenberger said two males approached the youths and said "Give me your phone," with one suspect showing the weapon.

The two boys complied, each handing over a cell phone and one adding cash to the mix.

The suspects are described as two black males, ages 20-25, 5'10", 150 pounds and wearing black hoodies. The suspects left westbound on 11th Street on foot, said Rosenberger, who said cell phones are easy to pawn or re-sell.

Anyone with information should call Rosenberger at (310) 802-5127.
