Juveniles Arrested in Commercial Burglary, Vandalism of School District Property

The nighttime incident brings a helicopter to the neighborhood during a search for suspects.

Two juveniles were arrested Thursday night after Manhattan Beach Police responded to a call of suspicious subjects on school district property, said Sgt. Matt Sabosky.

The two juveniles were apprehended sometime after leaving the school district's maintenance yard at 1517 Manhattan Beach Blvd. with what police say were stolen goods.

In addition to commercial burglary, the juveniles face felony vandalism charges since windows were broken on vehicles in the maintenance yard. Sabosky said the investigation continues, and the suspects may face additional charges.

Shortly after the call came in around 8:15 p.m., a police helicopter assisted with efforts to determine if any suspects remained on the property, Sabosky said. No one else was found.
