MB Man Identified as Motorcyclist Injured in Collision

The two vehicles connected on the El Segundo side of Rosecrans Ave., closing the road for a couple of hours.

The motorcyclist injured in a collision on Rosecrans shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday is a Manhattan Beach man believed to be 48 years old, said Lt. Jaime Bermudez of the El Segundo Police Department Monday afternoon.

Bermudez, who could not provide the man's name, said the man did "suffer some pretty serious injuries" but that "his life is no longer in immediate danger."

The motorcyclist was transported in critical condition to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center by Manhattan Beach Fire Department personnel Sunday night after he rear-ended a vehicle stopped for  red light, said Bermudez.

Bermudez said the female driver who was driving the Honda Civic that was hit "didn't have any part in the accident."

ESPD does not believe the road work near the intersection of Pacific Ave. was a factor in the collision.
