MBPD Officer in Stable but Guarded Condition
The department's Officer of the Year for 2011 received "significant injuries" in an on-duty crash Wednesday night. He is in ICU at an area hospital.
MBPD Officer Tony Presgraves is in stable but guarded condition after sustaining "significant injuries" in an on-duty two-car collision around 11 p.m. Wednesday, said MBPD Chief Eve Irvine.
Presgraves, the department's 2011 Officer of the Year, is in the intensive care unit at a local hospital. He has been with MBPD for 10 years and in law enforcement for 20, said Irvine.
Presgraves and the 24-year-old female driver of the other vehicle were transported to a hospital after the collision. Irvine said the woman was "in good condition" at the hospital.

"We wish for the other party involved to have a speedy recovery as well," Irvine told Manhattan Beach Patch. Thursday morning.
