3 Residential Burglaries, 2 Attempts in Manhattan Beach

Circumstances vary as the break-ins and attempts happen in three parts of the city.

Three residential burglaries and two attempted break-ins happened in Manhattan Beach from Nov. 6-19, according to a police report.

Three of the burglaries, including one attempt, were in the Tree Section on Palm, Oak and Pine avenues. A burglary happened in the 3500 block of Bayview Drive during a span of time from Nov. 6- Nov. 13 and an attempted break-in on Harkness Avenue. 

In the Bayview break-in, the suspect entered through an open window sometime between 8 a.m. on Nov. 6 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 13, taking a box holding a watch, wallet, cash and sunglasses.

In a Tree Section break-in in the 3100 block of Pine Avenue, a suspect entered the home through an open window between 12 noon and 8:59 p.m. on Nov. 15, ransacking the bedrooms. The loss was unknown at the time of the report, according to police records.

On Nov. 12 between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., a suspect stole miscellaneous items from a home during renovation in the 2800 block of Palm Ave. 

The attempted residential burglary happened on Nov. 15 between 7:15 a.m. and 10 p.m. in the 3600 block of Oak Avenue. A suspect pried open a window, triggering the alarm when trying to enter the home. No entry was made, according to the report.

The other attempted break-in happened between 3:15 and 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the 2200 block of Harkness Street. Pry marks were found on the door frame and gouges on the lock, according to the police report.
