Two Mira Costa Students Arrested on Campus

MCHS Vice Principal Jaime Mancilla confirms the arrests of two male juniors.

Two male Mira Costa High juniors were arrested for burglary and conspiracy Tuesday, said Jaime Mancilla, MCHS vice principal, on Friday, March 16.

As first reported online on March 15 by the school's high school newspaper, La Vista, the two students were arrested on campus by Manhattan Beach Police Department School Resource Officer and Detective John Loy, confirmed Mancilla.

Said Loy in La Vista, “Conspiracy is two or more people planning or committing a crime,” Loy said. “Burglary is the stealing of property. They can be charged for both.”
