Police Make Arrests for DUI, Public Intoxication, Vandalism

Manhattan Beach Police make alcohol-related arrests from Friday night through Sunday. Public intoxication subject also arrested for vandalism. Police react to domestic dispute call, too.

Manhattan Beach Police arrested three individuals for Driving Under the Influence this weekend. One arrest occurred Friday night, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Police also arrested a man for public intoxication and vandalism Friday night, said MBPD Public Information Officer Stephanie Martin today.

At about 7:33 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, MBPD received a report of a male who had caused major damage to a car door by kicking it, according to Martin. When police responded to the 500 block of Manhattan beach Boulevard, they wound up arresting a man for public intoxication and vandalism. Martin does not believe the victim and arrested individual know each other.

A DUI arrest on Sunday, Feb. 12 around 9:50 p.m. occurred at Marine and Highland avenues, where the alleged DUI driver, who was southbound on Highland, hit a parked car that then hit another parked car.

MBPD also handled a domestic dispute call Friday, Feb. 10 around 9:50 p.m. responding to a cell phone caller who reported being hit by a male, said Martin. Police know the name of the suspect, who rode off on a bike and was not taken into custody at the time. Martin said the woman was transported to Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, complaining of pain in her back.

Martin told Manhattan Beach Patch that it's "just a matter of time" until the male suspect is taken into custody.
