City Councilman Gains Spot on ICA Board

Manhattan Beach City Councilman Wayne Powell was elected to the Independent Cities Association board of directors at their general membership meeting in San Diego last weekend.

Stated Powell, “It is important for all cities that we continually work together to bring new opportunities to the region. As a city, we work hard and are able to make positive changes in our neighborhoods.

"I am honored to represent a great city and join my colleagues from other cities around the southland working together with public and private sector organizations to bring many benefits to the entire region.”

The ICA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, public benefit corporation that was established in 1961 by full-service cities, defined as cities that provide their own police and/or fire services, in Southern California to improve local government. The ICA consists of 40 cities in southern California representing approximately 7 million people.
