Rep. Henry Waxman to Open MB Office

The congressman will keep his Los Angeles area office.

Rep. Henry Waxman, who represents the new 33rd Dongressional District, will open an office in Manhattan Beach at the end of this month, said a spokeswoman for the congressman.

Located on the fourth floor at 1600 Rosecrans Avenue, the office is opening "to serve the constituents of the South Bay, Peninsula, Torrance, El Segundo, Lomita, and Marina del Rey," wrote the congressman's staff member Karen Lightfoot in an email to Patch.

“I am delighted to be opening an office in Manhattan Beach later this month," said Waxman. "Manhattan Beach is centrally located in the new part of the 33rd Congressional district, and I hope this new location will afford me many opportunities to get to know my constituents and for them to have easy access to my office.”

The new district includes Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, the cities and unincorporated areas of Palos Verdes, slivers of Marina del Rey and Venice, Malibu, Santa Monica, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Agoura Hills and the communities of Brentwood, West Los Angeles and Pacific Palisades.

Waxman, who has served in Congress since 1975, previously represented the 30th Congressional District. The newly drawn 33rd Congressional District was created after redistricting altered district boundaries to reflect population changes.

Lightfoot expects the MB office to be staffed by a field representative and other permanent staff members. Office hours are still being determined.

Waxman has an office near Beverly Hills at 8436 W 3rd St., Suite 600, Los Angeles and an office in Washington, DC.
