Labor Day Trash, Street Sweeping Schedules

Manhattan Beach residents should put their trash and recycle containers out for pick up one day later than their scheduled day. Monday collections will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday trash Wednesday and so on.

Trash collection will be delayed by one day this week in Manhattan Beach.

Street sweeping will not be performed on Monday, but regular street sweeping schedules will be maintained the rest of the week.

Waste Management and Athens Services, which hold the city contracts for waste collection and street sweeping, give their employees Labor Day off. Labor Day this year is Monday, Sept. 3.

If you have waste collection questions, contact Waste Management directly at 310-830-7100.

For street sweeping questions, call Public Works [the department is not open Monday in observance of Labor Day] at 310-802-5300.

City offices, banks and post offices will be closed Monday in observance of the federal Labor Day holiday. The American stock market is closed, as well, however, foreign markets are open.
