The highly successful Manhattan Beach TEDx conference returns to MB Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a focus on finding one’s purpose in life.
Centered around the theme “Journey to Purpose: Dream. Educate. Thrive.,” the TEDx event will explore ideas such as increasing the odds of finding one’s purpose in life and the role of education in finding that purpose.
“Our goal is to bring dynamic, leading-edge thought leaders and educators together to share their ideas and expressions about purpose – how to define and find purpose, and its effect on the human mind, spirit, and well being,” organizers said on the event’s website.
The conference, which will be held in the Manhattan Beach Middle School auditorium, will feature 18 speakers and 15 different exhibitors who will explore the event’s main theme.
This year’s presenters include former U.S. Ambasador to Uruguay and education reformer Frank Baxter, drummer Clayton Cameron who has played for Tony Bennett and sixth grade cake artist Emma Doyle.
TEDx Manhattan Beach is one of many TEDx organizations around the world, which serve as independent offshoots of the larger TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) non-profit organization. One of TED’s core missions is to facilitate “ideas worth sharing.”
Early bird tickets for the TEDx Manhattan Beach conference are available until 6 p.m. Thursday for $115 and are $125 after that.
