Manhattan Beach Youth Athletics Parade

The mayor was there, the streets were closed and the Manhattan Beach Youth Athletics parade began!

On Saturday, March 3, parents, kids, civic leaders, police and fire personnel and community volunteers gathered to kick off the 2012 season with the 54th annual parade and festivities. MBYA is the umbrella organization for Manhattan Beach Little League and Manhattan Beach Girls Softball.

Abut 1,400 young players walked the parade route of Valley Drive to Manhattan Beach Boulevard to Highland Avenue to 15th Street to American Martyrs Catholic Community where Mayor Nick Tell, Fire Chief Bob Espinosa, Mayor Pro Tem Wayne Powell, City Council members David Lesser and Richard Montogmery, among others, spoke.

A huge In-N-Out Burger semi truck enabled the burger chain to serve its fare from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
