Local Students Honored for Achievement
The Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council held the February version of its monthly student luncheon.
The Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council held the February edition of its Student of the Month luncheon February 16 at Verandas in Manhattan Beach.
American Martyrs School's Luke Pastore, Manhattan Beach Middle School's Priya Chatwani, and Mira Costa High School's Ricky Wedeen were recipients of the most recent Student of the Month honors.
Pastore serves as the school drummer, and is also involved in soccer and Boy Scouts. He has earned a purple belt in karate and recently received a trophy related to weapons.

Chatwani maintains a straight A average, and she is also a member of the yearbook staff and a dancer.
Wedeen is the first MCHS violinist of the school orchestra, a member of the science club, and a scuba diver.
