Friday was a big day for Mira Costa sports.

The boys and girls lacrosse teams traded results and timing, with the boys losing by one point, 12-11, in the game's final minute at Costa and the girls beating PV at PV in the game's final seconds, 14-13.

In other news, the Mustangs boys volleyball team beat Newport Harbor 3-0. The team, which is ranked ranked No. 1 in the most recent CIF Southern Section Division I poll, is now 10-0, with Bay League play beginning next week.
