Simmzy's Wins Charlie Saikley 6-Man Beach Volleyball Tournament
Summzy's takes yet another Charlie Saikley 6-Man title.
For the second time in three years, Simmzy's won the men's open division of the Charlie Saikley 6-Man Beach Volleyball Tournament, coming from the loser's bracket to claim the title Wednesday.
Simmzy's took on 12th Street after beating Fletch and a Stack in an exciting contest in which they came from behind to defeat a team that included pro beach volleyball player Sean Rosenthal and pro basketball players Luke Walton and Richard Jefferson.
The 6-Man, a best-of-three double elimination competition, was held on Wednesday and Thursday this year after Manhattan Beach city officials decided moving the tourney to weekdays would prevent the major partying its weekend version prompted. In 2012, the first year of weekday play, the 6-Man was held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
