Will There Be a Vin Scully Way?

The revered Dodgers' announcer may be honored yet again with a Los Angeles street bearing his name.

By City News Service

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti said Sunday that city staff should explore renaming a street near Dodger Stadium after Vin Scully.

Speaking on ABC7's "Eyewitness Newsmakers" interview show, the new mayor was reacting to a question sent in from a viewer who happens to be Scully's daughter in law.

"This is something that has been buzzing around on Twitter," the mayor said. He said he will consult city council members in the Dodger Stadium area to find the right street, although the viewer suggested it be Stadium Way.

Scully recently signed a contract for his 65th year as play-by-play announcer for the Major League Baseball team next year.

"If there's a Los Angeles hall of fame, Vin Scully would be my number one choice to go in it," Garcetti avowed on the ABC7 show.
