Hawthorne Resident Named as Man Pulled From Ocean

Police await the results of coroner's report for more details.

Police Tuesday said Humberto Loera, 54, of Hawthorne is the name of the man who public safety personnel were not able to revive Sunday around 6 p.m. when they pulled him from the ocean in Manhattan Beach near 40th Street.

Manhattan Beach Detective Sgt. Brian Brown told Patch the man's apparent drowning has been ruled accidental for now and that there aren't any suspicious circumstances. Police will know more after a coroner's report is issued.
