TV Show Guru, Weightloss Winner at MBYP Luncheon

If you can get a ticket for this event, you won't want to miss it.

Manhattan Beach Young Professionals is featuring "50 and fabulous" Tony Mims at the group's luncheon Thursday at Tin Roof Bistro in MB.

Mims was recently on the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition TV show during which time he lost more than half his weight, turned 50, was homeless and had a son die.

Good Morning America did a segment on Mims earlier this month. Here is the video.

Mims will be a speaker at the luncheon along with Todd Nelson, who formed the television production company, 3 Ball Productions, with JD Roth. Their production company went on to produce NBC's primetime hit, For Love or Money, and the reality franchise juggernaut, The Biggest Loser.

In 2010, Nelson and Roth were honored with the Promax/BDA Brand Builder Award for their work in making The Biggest Loser a key brand and an instantly recognizable media entity, according to MBYP.
