James Locke, Neighbor

I grew up on the East Coast, going to school st Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia before getting my MA from Columbia in NYC. I taught High School in the Bronx for several years. Moving here with my family in 2000, I stayed home to care for our son while our daughter began school at Pacific Elementary. As soon as our son started school I began working, teaching science at Manhattan Beach Middle School. I have been there for six years.

If you don't find me at MBMS, then I am probably out running (or at a Little League game). I have qualified for my third Boston Marathon  and will run in 2011. Having had the chance to experience weightlessness through a grant, I search out other opportunites to enhance my own experiences and learning. I am currently on, or have just returned from, a trip to the Arctic Circle to research climate change.
