Neighborhood Watch Recruitment

Manhattan Beach Police Department (MBPD) and Neighborhood Watch (NW) have been working together all summer long in an effort to recruit more volunteers to participate in the NW program.

Any current area coordinators, block captains or residents who live within the boundaries of areas 8 and 11 are invited to join us on Thursday, Sept. 16, as we continue our volunteer recruitment and revitalization of a fantastic program.  This is the final meeting of the summer series and although we are focusing on areas 8 and 11, all Manhattan Beach residents are invited to attend.

Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Watch is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and has worked tirelessly to involve our community in crime prevention, home/personal safety education as well as looking out for their neighbors.

Currently, there are hundreds of volunteers in the City, who are the "eyes and ears" of the Manhattan Beach community.  However, there are numerous streets that are not represented and those residents are not receiving important crime and safety information.

Residents who have an interest in volunteering for their street (block) are invited to attend this community meeting to hear about NW.

In an effort to accommodate those who are interested, the City has been divided up into areas.  This meeting is designed for those residents living within the area of: Sepulveda Boulevard, 1st Street, Aviation Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard (Area 8); and Sepulveda Boulevard, Rosecrans Avenue, Aviation Boulevard and Marine Avenue (Area 11).

To RSVP or for more information, call NW at 310-802-5183 or 310-802-5184.
